System Upgrades

Every mechanical system has a life. When it comes time to replace your system, we want to be the first and only call you need to make. From the design of a system to the completed installation, we can guide you through the process to make the job as seamless as possible.

Our Residential & Commercial replacement Supervisor, Thor, puts customer satisfaction first & foremost. All jobs are curated and completed by Thor & his team of specialists. Along with service work, we respect the time sensitive nature of replacements. We understand the value in getting a job done quickly, and in harsh conditions.

We frequently replace and install ductless systems, gas forced air furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps & more. If a more specialized solution is needed, we can customize the job as required.

A quick overview of R-22

R-22 or “Freon” as its more popularly known, is a refrigerant that was introduced around 1935. Considered an “HCFC” (Hydrochlorofluorocarbon) This refrigerant contains a chlorine molecule, which has been found to be an environmental concern. This was first brought up in 1987 as R-22 was added to the list of substances to be phased out. The reasoning for this is that the chlorine molecule actively eats ozone molecules in the atmosphere. This is why continually charging a system with a leak is considered irresponsible.

Despite the ethical aspect, R-22 is also becoming extremely expensive. This is making it a much less viable option to keep and service R-22 units.

R-22 Phase Out

As of 2020, R-22 will not be able to be imported or produced in the United States. This means relying on previously reclaimed stockpiles of R-22. This will drive the price to an unreasonable level.

R-410A

Currently, the standard in refrigeration is R-410A. This newer refrigerant runs at a much higher operating pressure. R-410A also lacks the aforementioned chlorine molecule. (HFC) R-22 systems are incompatible with newer, R-410A systems. This requires the Indoor coil and Condensing unit to be replaced, and preferably the line-set that connects the two.
